Welcome to KarateCaernarfon.co.uk
Here are some essential facts about Sakura Karate-Do:
- Sakura Karate-Do is a traditional karate club based in Arfon Leisure Centre, Caernarfon.
- We teach Shotokan Karate.
- We are a
non-profit club, which is why our
prices are so
low compared to other clubs (click
here for full cost listings).
- All our instructors are volunteers and are fully insured, CRB checked and qualified.
- We have been successful in many different Championships; Members of the club compete every year in the British Championships. Some members have even been chosen for the British Team to compete in the European and World Championships. We never come home without at least one medal.
- We are one of the founder members of the W.T.K.F. Our chief instructor (Peter Hughes - 3rd Dan) is the chairman. We are also fully affiliated with the Welsh Karate Governing Body.
- Sensei Kawasoe (8th Dan) is the Chief Instructor of the United Kingdom Traditional Karate Federation which is the federation we are part of.
- We are a small club, so there is a family atmosphere.
- We make sure all beginners and members feel safe and happy in the club. If you have any problems, don't be afraid to tell a senior grade. We'll do our very best to fix it.
- We offer a free lesson so you can try out karate with no obligation.

We do not operate a direct debit system. You pay for each lesson on the door.
This means that you do not get charged for lessons you don't attend. This also means no contracts and you have freedom to train as often or as little as you like (obviously we recommend that you train at least twice a week - the more you train the more you learn and the more you improve)
